Process for applying for a 1st District Concordia Language Village Scholarship:
- Individuals should first apply for a CLV camp session through the specific camp program they wish to attend. Concordia Language Village camp sessions can be applied for online at: https://www.concordialanguagevillages.org/languages/norwegian. Skogfjorden and any other Nordic language camps qualify for District 1 scholarships.
- Individuals then apply for a scholarship through their local District #1 Sons of Norway lodge by providing proof of registration to CLV. This is usually in the form of an email from CLV confirming that the camper has been registered for a specific session.
- Scholarships are available through the local lodge for in-person and virtual sessions. The lodge you belong to will have their own scholarship requirements; please check with them.
- Members of New Spirit Lodge #1-999 who wish to apply for a scholarship should contact the District 1 Scholarship Coordinator for scholarship availability information and applications before May 1st. Contact information is on the main page.
- Most lodges use the online camp registration form as the application for lodge scholarship.
- The lodge then determines who receives lodge and District 1 scholarship funds according to their lodge scholarship requirements. I.e., parents, campers, and/or grandparents must be a current member of the local lodge, and must have been a member since October of the previous year. Additional requirements may apply. Note that scholarships are available on a limited basis.
- Additional scholarship funds (for Skogfjorden only) are available through the Mikal Kartvedt Scholarship. Application form is available on the Lodge Scholarship forms page.
